The big news of the day was my new cast on my wrist. I had a temporary monster of a cast put on at the hospital. It was extremely awkward but very supportive as I never felt any pain in that wrist until today when I had it removed. The new cast is much smaller and allows for more movement which is not necessarily a good thing as I am already trying to do more with that hand. I can't forget that there is still a broken bone in there! But the new splint is custom, removable and designed to allow me to rest it on the handlebars and also to use in the water. I'm not sure I am ready to hop on the trainer just yet, but I am getting closer. I walked around town a bit this afternoon and plan to do an official "training" walk tomorrow. Who knows, I might even wear my RUN clothes ;)
Getting fitted for the new splint today. Notice my lovely pony-tail/headband combo (care of hairstylist Adam).
I begged to get the "paddle" splint....

The paddle splint was a crack up...so to speak. you will be back before you know it.
I broke my foot in Feb 09 and still had my best season ever that year.
That sucks! Get healed up fast so you can show what Canadian girls can do!
Get well soon. I feel for you with the broken collarbone.. I've done it four times so I know exactly why you hadn't changed out of your top yet. Getting in and out of shirts is not a fun process!
Hopefully tomorrow you are not one of those fast walkers that race people everywhere! they are quite dorky...
You have lots of support staff so I am sure you will back in no time
I promise not to race any of the runners ;)
Glad you are healing up Lauren. But I must comment on your statement about your running bra still on after your crash. You are sooo funny to share that. That was the 1st thing I thought of just cut it off! No pretense with you. Love it! Dawn
